“Rara gets out of prison in a few weeks!” I reminded my husband last night.
He pondered this briefly. “That means I should write her now, huh? So you can send my letter with yours?”
“Yep.”
He sat down at my computer to write.
I putted about as he wrote.
Several hours later, he asked me to peek at his letter and confirm its appropriateness.
I read the first page and laughed.

I ended my final postscript with a loving note about the rest of my husband’s letter, which reminded me how much his thoughtful words moved me long before we dated.
My husband and I disagreed on some details, I concluded, but were in complete consensus where it counts:
